WASS support parents on the journey of career guidance for students

On November 4, 2023, Western Australian International School System (WASS) organized a Parenting Skill Day workshop for secondary school Parents with the theme “How to support the choices of teenagers for their future careers?”.

The workshop aimed to help parents understand the importance of career guidance for students, as well as equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to support students in their journey of choosing the right career and school.

Mr. Gustavo Páez, Principal of the International Program at WASS, shared insights on early career orientation, methods of setting goals for students, and job trends in the 4.0 era. He emphasized the importance of developing a suitable plan and career path that are aligned with students’ interests and abilities.

Furthermore, Mr. Páez stressed the significance of not imposing family viewpoints on students. Instead, Parents should be supportive companions, assisting their children in discovering themselves and finding a suitable career path. Before the end of the workshop, Parents also had the opportunity to ask questions to the School Administrators.

The event provided valuable information to help Parents assist their children in making important decisions about their future career paths. RT Holdings in general and WASS in particular always emphasize the connection between families and schools in the comprehensive education and development of students. RT Holdings and WASS believe that activities that connect and foster communication between Parents and School not only enhance mutual understanding but also create the best learning conditions for students to succeed in their academic journey.
