In the era of rapid technological advancement, equipping students with a solid foundation and cultivating a robust digital literacy mindset is paramount for the contemporary education system. Recently, Western Australian International School System under RT Holdings, a pioneer in applying advanced science and technology in education, hosted the first Open Day series on January 13 for Elementary and Secondary School levels, followed by another on January 20 for Kindergarten level. The primary aim of this event was to provide parents and students with the opportunity to experience and explore the educational programs that incorporate modern science and technology seamlessly into each lesson at WASS.
During the Open Day for Elementary and Secondary School levels, under the theme “Where Innovation Meets Education,” students and their families had the chance to engage in hands-on experiences with cutting-edge science and technology subjects such as Drone control, Robotics, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and 3D Printing, as well as explore internationally standard facilities with modern equipment. Additionally, participants could also interact directly with the school’s administrators to resolve their questions and learn about the updated information on the curriculum for the academic year 2024-2025. Students also had the opportunity to attend free demo classes of the 2024 summer program at WASS, interact with foreign teachers, and conquer exciting challenges with attractive prizes. Furthermore, participants took part in entrance proficiency tests to assess their suitability for Western Australia’s programs and received detailed advice on programs of interest to their families.
At the 35 Nguyen Huu Canh Campus, with the theme “A Magical Beginning at WASS” Kindergarten, the students and their parents embarked on a remarkable tour and experienced the Western Australian education program and learning environment. Through engaging games and challenges at the Creativity & Innovation Hub, they explored activities like making Vietnamese snow flaked cake, utilizing basic computer tools, getting familiar with basic Scratch programming, participating in programming activities with the Botley robot, and exploring new things with Lego, 3D printing machines, 3D pens, and ceramics. The Open Day event also featured other enjoyable activities such as puppet shows, colorful “alphabet” exploration through assembly blocks, interesting scientific experiments, technology-related activities including VR and AR with iPads, and magnetic puzzle models. Additionally, participants also took proficiency tests and enjoyed fun demo classes with their friends and teachers.
Ending the event with many memorable moments for the students, WASS in particular and RT Holdings in general, hope that this Open Day has provided parents with essential information and an understanding of a suitable educational path to timely equip their children to become successful citizens of the digital age. The event also served as an opportunity for the units of RT Holdings to expand its brand awareness in the education sector market in Vietnam.
