PennSchool came alive with excitement as it welcomed a delegation of teachers and students from Oxford Spires Academy (United Kingdom) as part of the UK Exchange Cultural Week, themed “Beyond Borders: Cultural Encounters, Shared Stories”.

Throughout the week, students immersed themselves in a wide range of engaging activities, from high-energy team-building challenges and hands-on experiences making sweet popiah (a traditional Vietnamese sweet snack), to exploring technology through drone and robotics activities. Each experience not only brought joy but also created meaningful opportunities for students to learn, share, and better understand one another. Notably, authentic stories shared by students from Oxford Spires Academy offered #HomeOfTheEagles valuable insights into academic life and student experiences in the UK“, These stories are especially helpful for me and my friends who are considering studying abroad, as they help us better prepare for what lies ahead,” shared Minh Thu after the program.

Beyond the activities, #HomeOfTheEagles expressed their hospitality and appreciation for cultural exchange through thoughtfully prepared gifts that reflect the richness of Vietnamese traditions. A highlight of the event was a cross-cultural themed painting created by the Art teachers, serving as a meaningful symbol of connection and shared experiences.

Through various experiential activities and stories with interesting friends from the UK, students not only broadened their global perspectives but also deepened their appreciation for their cultural roots. This annual event continues to affirm PennSchool’s commitment to fostering a borderless learning community, one where every student is inspired to grow into a confident and capable global citizen.
