Letter of Congratulation on the Vietnamese Teacher’s Day, November 20th
Dear all Teachers and Staff working at IEDG,
We’ve all experienced a time in childhood in which we went to school and created great memories of spending time with our teachers and classmates. In particular, the memory of those educators who impacted our lives to such an extent that it left us running back to celebrate each and every annual Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Therefore, not only is it a traditional holiday to honor the great teachers of our lives, but it is also an opportunity for us to show them our gratitude. In this special atmosphere, I would like to send my sincere gratitude and best wishes to all our teachers, brothers and sisters staying under the roof of IEDG!
Even though the school year 2021-2022 has witnessed an abundance of fluctuations, thanks to the effort, enthusiasm and sacrifice of our teachers – brave “warriors” on the arduous journey of teaching knowledge, we have once again joyfully started with open minds and creative thinking in helping students quickly catch up with the necessary learning pace during the past challenging period. This has left a deep impression on me. The accomplishments of our staff have enabled me to take pride in the values that IEDG pursues in its spirit to “Embrace Flexibility and Innovation”.
“Tôn sư trọng đạo” is one of many ancient traditions of the Vietnamese people. It has been taught that we must be deferential to our teachers and respect their morals. As a result, teaching has always been honored as one of the noblest of professions. Nevertheless, facing technological development and its associated challenges in this epidemic, it is high time we had a look at the field of “Education” through a diverse lens. In fact, knowledge is no longer distributed exclusively by teachers and education has ceased being a one-way knowledge transmission activity. Instead, it is now transmitted throughout the world, where learners are the center and teachers play a role as a coach and companion, guide and supporter. Besides, education gives up being understood in the narrow sense of giving but sharing and serving nowadays. In other words, it requires the accompaniment, guidance and orientation of the teachers to help learners meet what they need in lieu of what teachers have. Simultaneously teachers also have the mission of inspiring students to confidently raise their voice, arousing the spirit of inquisitiveness and inner creative force, and hence helping learners practice their critical thinking and creative thinking skills when they confront any problems. This is also the core foundation for cultivating knowledge and developing oneself in the most comprehensive way in the era of integration.
Besides, what educators like us are doing every day is not only opening the doors to the treasure of human knowledge but also passing on the precious life experience of our predecessors, along with the necessary skills for integration and human lessons that contribute to shaping the personality of our students. In order to continue this noble work teachers must be leaders in innovation and willing to change their minds. In addition, it is fundamental for them to constantly equip themselves with new knowledge and skillsets so as to not be left behind in the race to innovation.
Initiating the contest to welcome the new school year 2021-2022 with the theme “Embrace Flexibility and Innovation”, IEDG’s Board of Directors wishes to gradually stimulate the spirit of initiative and creativity within teachers and students. Notwithstanding, how teachers and students have shown enthusiasm and passion is far beyond our expectations. In fact, despite the new way of organizing classes and creative teaching methods, our teachers have shown themselves to always be dedicated and available to accompany all students as friends and to provide them with any needed information. Therefore, they are likened to authentic family members, whom the students at IEDG love and entrust.
Moreover, it would truly be a shortcoming to not mention the silent sacrifice of the brothers and sisters behind the scenes that operate as our critical support staff in all our departments. With their acumen and flexibility, they have contributed significantly to spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity to every stage of our service logistics, while choosing to work behind the scenes and make the sessions successful. These members of our staff are also ones who show a selfless demeanor in their drive to help all within IEFG to succeed. It is this perfect combination of our frontline and support staff that creates our solidarity and extraordinary resonance, resulting in the outstanding values in education and human development that IEDG strives to maintain.
Dear all valued Teachers and Staff!
The school year 2021 – 2022 has been taking place in a proper way as planned to cope with the current pandemic situation. Our educational journey is still very long ahead and as such we must always be ready. It is appropriate at this time to be proactive and face all difficulties head-on, while at the same time trying our best to not become overly reliant on things that may have worked in the past but have become dated in our contemporary environment. Thus, moving forward we should be creative and open to adaptation in our teaching methods. It is to dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility.
I strongly believe that the flame of passion, enthusiasm and love for education in each of us is always burning. The solidarity and consensus of the whole IEDG community combined with our youth will be the foundation for us to continue firmly stepping into the “Innovation and Integration” phase after two decades of “Creating and Developing”. This will open up many new opportunities for us and propel the IEDG education ship forward to achieve new success in the near future.
Once again, on behalf of IEDG’s Board of Directors, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the Boards of Principals, Managers, Teachers, and staff members who are working at IEDG. I wish you all happiness and success in education and in life.
Many thanks and best regards,
IEDG Culture Team
