Students at WASS and PennSchool mapped out the career path for their future

To empower students to discover their passions and proactively build their future, WASS, PennSchool, and ISA organized a series of career guidance programs for High School students in September and October.

1. “Industry Insiders” Workshop: Connecting Generations

On September 25, 2024, the “Industry Insiders” Workshop marked the beginning of a series of career guidance activities for Years 10 – 12 students at WASS in this academic year. This special session featured parents as guest speakers, who shared inspiring stories about their career journeys and practical life lessons with WASS students.

The valuable insights and experiences shared by the speakers helped students better understand the nature of various professions and gain diverse perspectives on the fields they are interested in. As a result, students can assess their suitability for different careers and make informed decisions about their future. This career guidance session also highlighted the close collaboration between families and the School in creating a comprehensive educational environment for students. This serves as a solid foundation for students to conquer future challenges confidently.

2. Career Guidance and Overseas Study Consultation Series: A Solid Foundation for Students to Reach the International Stage

Recently, ISA, in collaboration with WASS and PennSchool, successfully organized a series of career guidance and overseas study consultation events for Year 12 students. The series kicked off on October 4, 2024, with a special consultation session exclusively for WASS students. Here, students had the opportunity to discuss their post-graduation plans and their preferred universities, and receive valuable tips on securing scholarships at top-tier institutions worldwide.

Continuing the series, WASSers and #HomeOfTheEagles had the opportunity to meet representatives from Arizona State University – the largest public university in the U.S. – on October 11, 2024. Besides, WASSers also connected with representatives from Simon Fraser University – one of Canada’s top three comprehensive universities – on October 14, 2024. During these meetings, students received advice on academic programs, admission requirements, scholarships, and potential career opportunities. The essential and in-depth information from university representatives helped students clarify their career choices and outline a suitable career path.

We are confident that this series of events has provided WASSers and #HomeOfTheEagles, especially those on the verge of entering university, with a comprehensive understanding to make informed decisions about their chosen field of study, aligning with their interests and abilities, and to prepare for their future overseas study plans.

WASS, PennSchool, and ISA are committed to organizing more career guidance and overseas study consultation programs, providing students with the tools to confidently pursue their dreams globally.
