Another joyous Mid-Autumn celebration has “arrived” at RT Holdings, bringing a lively, colorful atmosphere and unforgettable experiences.
This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, our school systems featured vibrant and unique themes such as “Moonlight Magic: Embracing Reunion” (WASS), “Once in the Blue Moon” (PennSchool), “Moonlight Fiesta” (SISS), and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Lanterns” (WASS Kindergarten), along with countless exciting experiential activities.
1. Practical Learning Field Trips
The students of the Sydney International School System (SISS) went on a Field Trip to the Bong So Beach Amusement Area and School Experience on September 17, 2024. The Jaguars had a day full of joy and happiness as they participated in fun water activities and explored traditional culture through creative “To He” crafting and captivating water puppet art.
Meanwhile, the #HomeOfTheEagles from the Pennsylvania American International School System (PennSchool) went on a trip to City Park on September 17 and 18, 2024. The students participated in various exciting challenges, decorated star lanterns, enjoyed an energetic dragon dance performance, and were entertained by the humorous play “Trang Oi, Trang A”. A highlight of the trip was when the PennSchool community came together to hold a Mid-Autumn lantern parade during their lively Field Trip.
2. Mid-Autumn Mooncake Workshop
The PennSchool and WASS families gathered together for a delightful Mid-Autumn Mooncake Workshop held on September 14, 2024. The WASSers and #HomeOfTheEagles, along with their families, had the chance to “transform” into skilled bakers, creating delicious and perfectly rounded mooncakes.
The little WASSers from Kindergarten and the Jaguars were just as excited as they molded their own adorable mooncakes in the Mid-Autumn Mooncake Workshop alongside their teachers.
3. Mid-Autumn Festival Activities
The Mid-Autumn Festival came to life with vibrant colors as students enthusiastically engaged in a series of meaningful traditional activities at school. They enjoyed interacting with “Chu Cuoi”, Moon Lady, and the Jade Rabbit, took part in folk games, watched musical performances, showcased traditional costumes, decorated fruit trays, enjoyed the lion dance performance, participated in a lantern parade, and celebrated with a festive feast.
What made the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival even more meaningful was when the school systems allocated a part of the festival’s organizational cost to the national relief fund to assist those affected and to spread kindness to students facing difficulties caused by Typhoon Yagi.
RT Holdings hopes that through the meaningful activities of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, students will not only gain enjoyable experiences but also come to appreciate the value of traditional culture and the spirit of compassion and community connection.
