On June 30, 2024, the campers of UMC Summer Camp 2024, who included the WASSers and #HomeOfTheEagles, departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport and arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada. The group began a 3-week journey exploring 3 cities of 2 provinces across Canada.
Throughout the journey, campers had the opportunity to learn about Canadian culture, lifestyle, and art, expanding their understanding of the country and its people. They were also inspired to pursue their dreams of studying abroad through a visit to the University of Toronto – one of Canada’s most prestigious universities.
In addition, the adventures in Canada brought the students a wide range of emotions, from surprise to excitement, as they visited popular destinations such as St. Lawrence Market, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Toronto Island Park, Royal Ontario Museum, Niagara Falls, CN Tower, Art Gallery of Ontario, Woodbine Beach, Nathan Phillips Square, and more. The journey continued with explorations in Montreal – known as the city of a hundred bell towers; Quebec – the ancient city; and Ottawa – the bustling capital of Canada.
After 3 weeks of learning and exploration, campers have not only acquired valuable knowledge and forged lasting friendships, but also gained important life lessons such as independence, international confidence, and enhanced English communication abilities for both academic and everyday situations. Additionally, they received a certificate of completion for UMC Summer Camp 2024, a passport that shortens the distance to realizing their dream of studying abroad. With this experience as their foundation, they are well-equipped to confidently pursue their educational goals and aspirations.
The success of the UMC Summer Camp 2024 motivates ISA to further develop and bring more diverse learning and experiential opportunities to students.
