On September 19 and 20, the Western Australian International School System (WASS), the Pennsylvania American International School System (PennSchool), and the Sydney International School System (SISS) came together to spread a humanitarian message of peace through a series of meaningful activities in celebration of Peace Day.
Blue shirts once again filled all schools, inspiring and affirming the values of solidarity and unity in pursuit of shared positive values. Especially, by wearing blue shirts to school, students contributed to supporting those affected by the recent typhoon Yagi in the Northern regions. This initiative not only helps alleviate the hardships faced by those impacted but also fosters the spirit of solidarity and compassion.
In addition to wearing blue shirts, students also participated in various engaging activities. At WASS, with the theme “Peaceful Actions, Loving Hearts”, WASSers placed stickers with ideas for bringing peace to the world, designed anti-bullying bracelets, and took part in a poster design contest that conveyed the wishes, hopes, and commitments of each WASS member for a better world. Moreover, they engaged in discussions aimed at raising awareness and exploring effective strategies for preventing school violence.
Meanwhile, the little WASSers at WASS Kindergarten learned to become “messengers of love” through various meaningful play-based activities, such as spreading the message of peace by creating a vibrant pinwheel garden or learning to recognize and differentiate between positive and negative actions. Through these small acts, the little WASSers worked together to create a loving picture of peace and contributed to making the world a better place.
At PennSchool, #HomeOfTheEagles embraced the culture of peace with the theme “Cultivating a Culture of Peace” through the Peace Day Podcast. As part of their mission to sow the seeds of peace through action, the students created peace pinwheels and sent heartfelt wishes to children in the mountainous areas of Yen Bai Province through a special greeting book. These activities inspired students to continue promoting the spirit of peace and spreading love daily, not only on this special day but throughout the entire year.
At SISS, as a part of Spirit Days, Peace Day with the theme “Piece of SISS: Peace in Heart” was an opportunity for students to make peace doves and decorate boards and banners all created by the Jaguars themselves. These meaningful creations reflected the students’ wishes for a world free from war, natural disasters, and suffering.
The Peace Day celebrations not only received enthusiastic participation from students but also from teachers and staff across all three schools. These vibrant and impactful activities provided an opportunity for all members of RT Holdings to unite in building a safe, friendly, equal, and loving environment for the community.
