WASS, PennSchool, and SISS Celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 with the Spring Festival

The Spring Festival is a special event held annually during the Lunar New Year to create a joyful atmosphere, allowing students to participate in fun activities and explore the unique cultural features of Tet. Moreover, the festival serves as a bridge, uniting students across the school systems with a positive energy during the vibrant spring season.

Embark on a Cultural Journey with WASSers to Discover the Heart of Tet Traditions

At the Western Australian International School System (WASS), on January 23 and 24, 2025, the Spring Festival was held with the theme “Tết Đoàn Viên – Xuân Đong Đầy”. The festival offered students the opportunity to participate in a series of folk cultural activities featuring traditional games and activities such as lotto, bamboo pole dance, wrestling, calligraphy writing and To He making, coconut leaves art, Mandarin square capturing, and so on. Moreover, students also enjoyed Tet-flavored dishes at the candied fruit booth, where chewy, fragrant candied fruit were displayed in many vibrant colors.

In addition to experiencing the various booths, High School students also had the opportunity to learn about Tet traditions with their friends through the Golden Bell Challenge with the theme of Spring. Through the festival activities, students not only immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of spring but also gained a deeper understanding of Tet traditions and customs. Each activity was designed by the School to not only be entertaining but also to help students love and appreciate traditional values, while providing opportunities for them to connect and create unforgettable memories with friends.

Little WASSers Create a Colorful Spring Together at the Spring Festival: Tet of Unity

To prepare for the Spring Festival, the little ones at WASS Kindergarten have prepared their own small flower pots to bring to school, creating a mini Spring Flower Festival right at the school. Each flower pot has its own unique color; however, the colors become more harmonious than ever when they are arranged together, creating a vibrant and colorful picture.

This year’s Spring Festival at WASS Kindergarten was not only a chance for little ones to play but also an opportunity for them to learn about Vietnamese traditional culture through a variety of engaging activities. The little WASSers participated in a Tet market that featured unique stalls, challenged themselves with the game “What do you know about Tet?”, had their calligraphy written, and joined their friends in team-building games such as tug-of-war, sack race, blind man’s buff, obstacle race and wrestling. In addition, they participated in a fashion show with the theme ” National Custome: Traditional Ao Dai of Tet” where they proudly wore colorful Tet ao dai, showcasing both their beauty and national pride. After participating in the event, they enjoyed a delicious buffet of traditional Tet dishes with their teachers and friends.

Welcoming the Tet Holiday with Joy at PennSchool’s “Harmony of Spring” Festival

The Spring Festival at PennSchool brings a lively and warm atmosphere, giving students the opportunity to experience fun and exciting traditional Tet activities. Students have worked together to decorate colorful wish balls in their classrooms and sent their hopes and aspirations into them. Besides, on January 24, 2025, PennSchool also organized a bustling and exciting Tet Market – where students could participate in folk games with friends and enjoy Tet dishes at special food stalls. The festive atmosphere became even more joyful and lively as students participated in Tet Quiz, joined in the lively spring melodies, and enjoyed the impressive lion dance performance.

Celebrating the Lunar New Year with Jaguars at the Vibrant “Wellness Grows, Tet Glows” Festival

Welcoming a new Spring season filled with happiness under the shared roof of SISS, the Jaguars had a lively and meaningful festival. One of the highlights was the Art Auction – a special event where parents bid on the creative works of the students, with the highest bidder taking home the cherished artwork. In addition, the students enjoyed spectacular performances and a dazzling fashion show that captivated the audience. Furthermore, they showcased their creativity in the “Floral Art Contest” and the “Hues of Tet Harmony” competition, where they spent precious moments with friends, creating beautiful Tet flower arrangements and colorful Tet paintings.

Notably, all proceeds from the Art Auction and the experience booths will be contributed to the Community Fund to support the project, “Yen Bai, For a Better Tomorrow” (Phase 2). The festival not only offered students opportunities to have fun and learn but also provided a meaningful way for families and students to come together in spreading warmth and joy to those in need during the Lunar New Year.

The Spring Festival concluded with an atmosphere brimming with joy and hope for a peaceful and prosperous new year. We hoped that through the festival activities, students had the opportunity to enjoy meaningful moments with friends, unleash their creativity, and explore the rich traditional cultural heritage of Tet.
